Christiane Wendehorst spoke at the 7th Münster Colloquium on EU Law and the Digital Economy

17.11.2022

On Thursday, 17 November 2022, Christiane Wendehorst spoke at the Münster Colloquia on EU Law and the Digital Economy about Liability for AI.

The "Münster Colloquia" deal with the challenges facing EU law as a result from the transition to the digital economy. The 7th Colloquium analysed in-depth the issues raised by the European Parliament resolution of 20 October 2020 calling for an EU “Regulation on Liability for the Operation of Artificial Intelligence-Systems” which have now been followed up by the legislative proposals for a AI Liability Directive and a revised Product Liability Directive, published by the European Commission on September 28, 2022. These proposed new legal acts, which may lead to a far-reaching reshaping of liability law at European and national level, were discussed at the colloquium as the first expert event on this subject.

Christiane Wendehorst was part of the panel on Producer Liability and Operator Liability and thus addressed the question Product Liability or Operator Liability – “What is the best way forward?”.
