On 20 February 2023, Christiane Wendehorst discussed the challenges and opportunities of being a woman in science with other renowned scientists.
The roundtable, to which Wendehorst was invited, focused on the reality of women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and interdisciplinary fields of science. The panel, consisting of Prof. Dr. Arianna Montorsi (Italy), Dr. Emily Jenkins (Canada), Prof. Dr. Ursula Keller (Switzerland) and Prof. Dr. Christiane Wendehorst (Austria), looked at the connection between gender and career advancement and discussed why keeping more women in science is crucial for scientific progress.
As President of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) and Professor of Civil Law at the University of Vienna, Christiane Wendehorst brought a wealth of experience to the discussion.
